The Making of the Power Page

The making of the projected power number.

When I sit down to make the projected power number for each horse I first attempt to filter out
information that could influence my judgement, that includes odds, writtien articles and
handicappers opinion. I attempt to interpret the horse's form based primarily on my pace and
final numbers, then I factor in knowledge of trainer moves, trainer statistics and some jockey
impact. I study films and charts to supplement the numbers the horses have run.

Each horse is rated as if it is running in a normal race. A early speed horse is considered to
have an average trip on the front end and closers are considered to have a fair pace to run at.
Nothing too hard or too easy. The pace numbers that I study indicate the tolerance levels of each
horse. Without revealing my techniques, this method expresses the expected current form , and
does it better than any method I have seen. And it is consistent!. And it is right at the heart of
handicapping! Traditional or fundamental forms of handicapping are natural extensions of this
              orderly process.

Considering the above, plenty of handicapping remains for you do do. Remember the most
important influence in my projected number is the current numbers the horse has been running,
This makes perfect sense in building a useful decision model, first we make a decision on each
horse's current form (we do that), then we order it (we do that), the we evaluate the information
and the odds (you do that). On Saturday we had 2 horse that I am very proud of , Hellenic Pride
our 2nd ranked horse in the 2nd race.

Hellenic Pride was our second ranked horse and went off at 37 to 1. She ran 2nd, so after
the disappoint of not winning, you could have collected a $26.00 place price or maybe a $224.00
exacta if you made a reverse exacta wheel, as I oftern suggest when making your place wager.

Elsurur was another horse of importance on Saturday , she ran in the 9th race. Elsurur was our
top ranked horse and went off at 16 to 1, she ran second.with a handsome place price of
12.80, but better the place price wase reverse exacta wheel that paid 198.00.

I am hoping The Power Page will help you identify live (possible) long-shots and understand
each race a little more thoroughly. The most important factor for you to remember is that our
work is consistent, it is statistically correct and you can be sure it will remain that way.
