Sunday’s (3-29-2014) Power Page and KHSS for Santa Anita are ready for download…

Remember, NO AQUEDUCT today, as NYRA is always closed for Palm Sunday…

The racing i Meyday (that would be Dubai) was pretty interesting…  First of all, to my eye, California Chrome ran another solid effort — he always does.  Congrats to the owners, and to Art Sherman.  To my eye, CC was the best, being parked the entire trip due to a difficult pace setup.  HE has too much early speed to take back and the pace wasn’t fast enough for him to be able to save some ground.  We see this running formation all the time, and horses with CC’s position (3-4 wide in the first turn) and wide the balance of the race, seldom in the board. He did run on to the finish for a solid 2nd place.  This horse has NO QUIT in him – you just gotta love him…   He ran the full 1 1/4 miles – no taking it easy…  I can’t be certain, but I would guess, with ground loss he ran at least a 81.0 on my figs…

This means that the winner of the UAE Derby, Mubtaahij, appears to have run “about a 74.0 – 75.0”  on my figs — while looking very impressive.   However, that fig, isn’t looking very competitive to me and there is little time to get him to improve sufficiently to be a factor come the KD…   Please keep this in mind, all distances at Meydan are listed as “About” and this makes making good figs, very difficult…
